Hot Tub Regulations
Hot Tub Regulations
•During pregnancy soaking in the hot tub may cause damage to the foetus so contact your doctor for advice before entering the water
•Never use the hot tub while using or after using narcotics or other drugs that may cause sleepiness, drowsiness, or raise/lower blood pressure
•At 39-40°C limit your time in the hot tub to a maximum of 15 minutes as extending this time can affect your inner organs and cause fever-like conditions. At 36-37°C this time can be extended as this is body temperature and there is no risk. Recommended guidelines suggest that you should use a hot tub for a maximum of 45 minutes at any one time.
•Do not immerse your head in the hot tub water. This increases the risk of infection and can heighten the dangers of drowning due to suction below the water line
•Never use the hot tub alone.
•Do not jump into the hot tub.
•Take care when entering and leaving the hot tub. When leaving the hot tub leg, muscles may be relaxed enough to make you unsteady
•Drinks can be consumed around the hot tub area, please do so with care and try not to spill drinks into the water. Plastic glasses are provided for hot tub use but should a normal glass be broken in the tub then IMMEDIATELY vacate the tub then turn the jets off if they are running. Please report this to us so that it can be dealt with as soon as possible. If it happens late at night then please refrain from using the tub and notify us in the morning.
•Do not use any electrical appliances near/in the hot tub.
•If any fault or damage occurs with the hot tub please contact us at the earliest convenient moment.
•Persons with heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure, or any serious illness should not enter the hot tub without prior consultation with their doctor
•Parents are advised that the hot tubs are not suitable for children under the age of four and to warn their children not to allow water into their mouths as this can cause infection and illness. Children entering the hot tub is at the discretion of the parents and we take no responsibility.
•Drinking alcohol in a hot tub can be dangerous. A hot tub causes your blood vessels to dilate, which will cause your blood pressure to rise. This means that alcohol will get into your bloodstream faster and circulate through your body faster, which will have a greater effect on you than normal. The heat of the tub and the alcohol combined can cause dehydration and possible heat exhaustion. If you feel any of the following symptoms, then get out of the tub immediately:
Lightheaded, dizzy, nausea, rapid heartbeat, faint or fatigued, headache, extreme sweating.
•Shower with soap and water before and after using the hot tub. Showering before use washes away many of the common skin bacteria and removes lotions, deodorants, creams, etc which reduce the effectiveness of the spa sanitizer which disinfects the water.
•Never allow children to use the spa or hot tub unsupervised, and DO NOT leave children unattended in or near the tub even when the lid is closed.
•Avoid using the hot tub immediately after a heavy meal.
•Avoid entering the hot tub water immediately after exercising as the water temperature can affect the heart rate.
•Take care on the decking as water from the tub can cause it to be slippery.
•If any allergic reaction occurs, leave the hot tub and rinse off in the shower. If the reaction persists, contact the owners or go to a local doctor or A&E.
•The hot tub requires daily testing and chemical treatment every day to be enjoyed safely. We usually do it mid-morning to ensure the hot tub is then perfect for the rest of the day and evening.
•We will always show all of our guests on arrival how to access the hot tub, remove the cover and operate the jets and lights.
•The cover MUST always be replaced when not being used to maintain the temperature and to ensure safety at all times. AT NO POINT MUST ANYONE WALK ON THE HOT TUB COVER. This is both for your safety and to ensure no damage to the cover itself.
•If you reduce the temperature while using the hot tub, please ensure it is returned to 40 degrees to ensure energy efficiency.
DO NOT USE THE HOT TUB IF YOU HAVE SKIN, EAR, GENITAL OR OTHER BODY INFECTIONS, OPEN SORES OR WOUNDS. AT NO POINT SHOULD THE HOT TUB BE USED IF YOU SUFFER FROM THE ABOVE. THIS COULD CAUSE THE SPREAD OF INFECTION, IRRITATE YOUR CONDITION FURTHER AND CONTAMINATE THE HOT TUB FACILITY. DO NOT GET INTO THE HOT TUB WEARING FAKE TAN, MAKE-UP, BODY CREAM ETC. THIS WILL CAUSE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE TUB AND FILTRATION SYSTEM AND CAN CAUSE IT TO BE UN OPERATIONAL AND HAVE TO BE CLOSED TO YOU OR THE NEXT GUESTS.
